The class will discuss the basic principles of condensation within a roof assembly. We will review areas such as ventilation, insulation, vapor barriers/retarders, humidity levels, code requirements vs. real world methods and other issues which impact controlling condensation. Additionally we will discuss topical evidence which points to condensation, rather than a faulty roof, as the source of moisture intrusion issues.
Aaron Nelso is the President of Roofing Technical Services. Aaron started in the roofing industry just after graduating from high school by working as a sheet metal fabricator/installer. Eventually Aaron worked his way into the office of a commercial roofing contractor in Seattle, and worked as an estimator/project manager for 10-years. In 2004 Aaron joined the consulting side of roofing and started on working on projects across the nation. Aaron and the team at RTS provide consulting and quality-assurance observations for our clients on projects large and small. RTS has projects throughout the nation, working with various code and climate conditions that make each project unique.
